01. What technology does X-Hair use for its hair removal services?
A: X-Hair offers progressive hair reduction through Xflash! TM which uses Near InfraRed (NIR) technology imported from Japan.
02. How does it work?
A: This state-of-the-art system targets sebaceous glands that supply nutrients for hair growth. By doing so, dermal papilla cells shrink and die voluntarily without nutrients without destroying cells. You may learn more about our technology here.
03. Is it safe?
A: With an excellent air cooled system, Xflash! TM lowers the risk of skin burning. Also, Xflash! TM equips itself with a crystal quartz filter that precludes skin pigmentation and scarring. Xflash! TM depilates hair by dwindling sebaceous gland orifices without destroying cells. This safety feature prevents skin damage and burning, and simultaneously denies supply of nutrients to hair growth thereby leading to “hair starvation”.
04. Is the hair removal service provided by X-Hair permanent?
A: X-hair definition of “permanent” is being able to go a year after your final hair removal treatment without having to use another method of hair removal. This is because hair growth is dependent on hormonal levels which vary among individuals. If you have very active hormones, hair growth will be faster than others and thus requires hair removing more frequently.
As such, X-hair emphasizes on permanently reducing hair growth progressively. Furthermore, there is no light based therapy that can achieve permanent complete hair loss. However the Xflash! hair reduction treatment will result in a permanent long term stable reduction in the amount of hair that can regrow.
05. How long does each session last? How many sessions of treatment
are needed?
A: Each underarm treatment will take around 15 minutes. Other treatments will depend on the size of the area treated. The number of sessions varies for different customers depending on the patient’s hair and skin type. We would recommend at least 6 sessions for satisfactory results.
06. Why is X-hair charging the services at lower prices as compared to others?
A: X-hair wishes for everyone to maintain a good social etiquette and image where unsightly hairs are removed. Therefore, we are mindful of the affordability of treatments especially to students. However, X-hair will not compromise the overall experience of our clients.
07. What is the difference between waxing and Xflash! ?
A: Waxing is about getting rid of hairy bits from their roots. Hence, waxing can lead to problems like ingrown hairs which leads to other skin problems. As for Xflash! TM , it is about denying nutrients to the sebaceous glands. As a result, dermal papilla cells shrink and die voluntarily without nutrients and without destroying any cells. The most distinct difference between waxing and Xflash! therapy is that the former is temporary while the latter is permanent.
08. What is the difference between IPL and Xflash! ?
A: The fundamental differences between the two are their origins and energy. IPL is imported from Europe while NIR technology which Xflash! deploys is imported from Japan.
Xflash!TM uses lower energy per pulse during treatment. This is due to the higher level of melanin in Asian skins, and thus doesn’t warrant excessive energy (prevents burning) as melanin is a good absorber of heat.
09. What are the risks of hair removal?
A: X-hair hair removal is a lunch time procedure. There is no recovery time. You can get back to work or play just immediately. There are low risks involved as skins are not being removed and cells are not damaged during the treatment. If you still have doubts about our treatment, X-hair will be glad to provide you with free consultation.
10. Is it painful?
A: Everyone’s pain tolerance is different. However, you may feel a slight tingling of heat.
11. Are there any restrictions that I have to look out for before
the treatment?
A: Please complete the contra-indication form, before proceeding for the treatment. This will allow us to improve the quality of your experience and inform you if there are certain treatments that may not be advisable for you. We are not obliged to perform services on any individual who may be displaying contra-indications to the service.
12. How long do I have to wait before the next treatment session?
A: Subsequent treatment sessions are scheduled when hairs begin to regrow. The interval can range from four to eight weeks, depending on treatment area and its hair type. On average, appointments are scheduled four to six weeks apart.
13. Are there any possible side effects?
A: The immediate appearance of the treated area after treatment will vary from client to client depending on the skin type but there is none as of yet. Side effects, if any, will usually be minor. Most people will be able to return to normal activity right away.
14. What kind of results should I expect?
In 3 - 14 days, you will see stubble representing dead hair being shed from the hair follicle.
A permanent reduction in the number of regrowing hairs is usually achieved following each treatment.
